Judges
Judging and Judging Criteria

Rigorous judging gives young Canadian scientists the opportunity to benchmark their accomplishments against those of their peers.

Organized by the Host Committee’s Chief Judge, and the overseen by the National Judge-in-Chief and the National Judging Advisory Committee, the judging process at the Canada-Wide Science Fair is rigorous, fair and consistent. All projects are judged on the following criteria:

Scientific thought 45%
Original creativity 25%
Display & Oral Presentation 16%
Project Report & Log 14%

Projects are judged for medals in three categories (junior, intermediate, senior) in seven scientific divisions. Projects are judged separately for Special Awards.
